On August 22, Microsoft introduced the Public Preview of “Python in Excel”.

Here are four key points:

  • Python in Excel brings together two widely used tools, the Python programming language and you guessed it… Excel, to enable integration for enhanced data analysis.

  • By directly accessing Python from the Excel ribbon, users can conduct advanced data analysis within Excel's environment.

  • The integration is supported by Azure and utilizes Anaconda Distribution, which includes popular Python libraries like pandas, statsmodels, Matplotlib, and seaborn.

  • Python in Excel also promotes collaboration, enabling sharing of workbooks and Python analytics through platforms like Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
