Dronamics, a Bulgarian start-up founded by Svilen and Konstantin Rangelov, aims to make cargo deliveries more accessible and cost-effective, especially to remote regions.

Here are a few key points:

  • They developed the Black Swan, a cargo drone capable of carrying 350 kg over 2,500 kilometers. In comparison, a Zipline drone can carry up to 3.6 kg of cargo within a 16-kilometer radius.

  • This drone can land at small airports, making it ideal for underserved areas.

  • Dronamics claims its solution is cheaper and more sustainable than traditional air freight, with 50% lower costs and 60% lower CO2 emissions.

  • However, safety concerns, particularly tracking drones to prevent collisions and ensure secure deliveries, remain critical. Projects like CERTIFLIGHT are working to address these issues through advanced satellite tracking and anti-spoofing technology.

  • Dronamics plans to expand across Europe and into emerging markets, helping to boost economic development by improving supply chains.
