Making the cargo drone dream a reality
Black Swan is a cargo drone capable of carrying 350 kg over 2,500 kilometers
Dronamics, a Bulgarian start-up founded by Svilen and Konstantin Rangelov, aims to make cargo deliveries more accessible and cost-effective, especially to remote regions.
Here are a few key points:
They developed the Black Swan, a cargo drone capable of carrying 350 kg over 2,500 kilometers. In comparison, a Zipline drone can carry up to 3.6 kg of cargo within a 16-kilometer radius.
This drone can land at small airports, making it ideal for underserved areas.
Dronamics claims its solution is cheaper and more sustainable than traditional air freight, with 50% lower costs and 60% lower CO2 emissions.
However, safety concerns, particularly tracking drones to prevent collisions and ensure secure deliveries, remain critical. Projects like CERTIFLIGHT are working to address these issues through advanced satellite tracking and anti-spoofing technology.
Dronamics plans to expand across Europe and into emerging markets, helping to boost economic development by improving supply chains.
