IBM announced today the launch of its new AI and data platform, WatsonX, at its annual Think conference.
Here are six key points:
WatsonX includes WatsonX.ai, an AI development studio that offers a variety of foundation models, training, tuning, and infrastructure to enable enterprises to train, test, and deploy traditional machine learning and new generative AI capabilities powered by foundation models via a simple user interface.
WatsonX.data is a purpose-built data store based on open lakehouse architecture that is designed for regulated data and AI workloads
WatsonX.governance is an AI governance toolset that enables trusted AI processes.
IBM clients may use the platform to train and deploy unique AI capabilities throughout their whole organization while maintaining control over their data.
The initial set of foundation models will be made accessible to certain customers via beta tech preview.
General availability is expected in July 2023.
